Subject Matter Expert on PeopleSoft 9.2 re: Core HR, Absence Management, Base Benefits, Benefits
Administration, Security, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), Workforce Administration, Talent
Management, Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service, and Reporting/Dashboarding.
Summary/Objective:
The PeopleSoft Business Analyst has expert level knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM, business process
improvement, system requirements gathering, quality assurance testing, and data analytics, with a focus
on data flows among the HCM modules and to/from external suppliers. The ideal candidate should
possess subject matter expertise relating to PeopleSoft HCM applications, specifically Absence
Management, Base Benefits, and Benefits Admin. This position’s focus includes monitoring scheduled
processes, leading requirements gathering, data analysis, prototyping and documenting current and
new business processes related to or impacting PeopleSoft.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
 Serve as agency representative or liaison in various project teams and oversight committees
related to updates and implementations impacting PeopleSoft HCM;
 Serve as agency expert for understanding data flows through PeopleSoft HCM environment,
focusing on data flows among modules and understanding relevant dependencies and
interfaces, with concentration on HCM modules and HCM interfaces;
 Collaborate and partner with stakeholders and technical teams (internal and external) to
understand impact of change;
 Diagram and document policies and processes of the business practices and requirements,
including business case analysis;
 Serve as the expert in analysis, review, and maintenance of business, functional design, and
technical requirements specification documents.
 Manage technical work related to PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Benefits Administration activities;
 Manage technical work related to PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Absence Management activities;
 Support HCM upgrade activities;
 Develop and implement standardized processes and methods employed to perform
requirements gathering, PeopleSoft fit/gap analysis, and test planning;
 Design exhaustive test plans, test scripts, test cases for multiple phases of testing – Functional
Unit testing, System integration testing (SIT), Regression testing, Coordinated User Acceptance
Testing (UAT);
 Plan for and implement systems upgrades;
 Link business processes with the setup and business rules of PeopleSoft HCM software;
 Define and implement application configuration settings;
 Perform complex data analysis, including designing queries, as needed;
 Develop, document, and test security roles and permissions based on business process
requirements;
 Identify, manage, and escalate issues and risks to ensure operations remain on schedule,
budget, and scope;
 Ensure PeopleSoft applications have been appropriately updated and tested in coordination
with stakeholders;
 Manage HCM supplier interfaces, including file receipt and transmission, establishment of
connections, encryption & decryption, and archiving of files as appropriate;
 Conduct data mining activities and develop reports to assist in the implementation of data-
driven decision-making processes;
 Maintain expertise with regular training and participation in various Oracle communities,
research, and product updates or roadmaps; and
 Help ensure application security and performance monitoring, evaluating, and maintaining
systems and procedures.
Preferred Experience:
 PeopleSoft 9.2 experience, specifically knowledge and experience with Core HR (including ESS
and MSS), Benefits Administration, Absence Management, and Time Reporting
 5+ years in requirements gathering, documentation, user interaction, cross-functional analysis,
configuration, and testing
 Experience planning for and implementing systems upgrades;
 Experience in designing exhaustive test plans, test scripts, test cases for multiple phases of
testing – Functional Unit testing, System integration testing (SIT), Regression testing,
Coordinated User Acceptance Testing (UAT);
 Experience with data analysis, data conversion, and integration.
 Intermediate to expert level SQL knowledge
 Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM Absence Management, Core HR, Benefits modules
 Previous experience with PeopleSoft HCM system integration
 Previous experience automating processes and securely transmitting data via SFTP using
command scripts, GoAnywhere, or other software
 Knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQRs, App Engines, and SQL updates
 Previous experience with PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Test Framework, macros, Visual Basic,
Oracle databases, automation scripting, supporting SaaS solutions, SharePoint, Microsoft Project
Planning, and Tableau is highly beneficial.
