The National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA) held it’s 2018 Annual Licensing Seminar in Williamsburg, Virginia, on September 24– 26, 2018.
NARA is an international non-profit professional association founded in 1976 representing all human care licensing. The Licensing Seminar is the premier event in which state regulatory staff come together to network, share best practices and develop strategies for improving their regulatory practices.
Approximately 200 state licensing staff attended this conference. At least 40 states plus the District of Columbia sent regulatory staff to the event. Attendees also included federal policy makers and technical assistance providers.
TCC Team
TCC sent the following staff to support and network this conference: Mike Boyle, Dawn Downer, Michelle Spence and Michelle Thomas. Michelle Thomas was elected to the NARA Board of Directors in 2017 and attended a day long Board meeting prior to the event. Michelle Thomas is also the Research and Development Committee Chair and held a meeting of the committee during the conference.

Evening Reception and Golf Activity
TCC sponsored a “Mix and Mingle” evening reception with food and beverages. Attendees were invited to participate in a “closest to the hole” golf contest. TCC donated prizes to the top 4 winners.
The event was very well attended, and many of the participants commented on how fun the activity was. The TCC Team was challenged to top this activity at next year’s conference.
