Vertex Solutions Group – a TCC Company (VSG) is developing a prototype system for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) to provide AC-130U Gunship pilots with cockpit familiarity. VSG will provide AFSOC with five devices which consist of a 3D model of the entire AC-130 flight deck, with an underlying simulation of all control panel responses, viewed via an Oculus Rift head-mounted display. The system allows pilots to interact bare-handed with all cockpit controls in order to perform preflight and post-flight checklists.
